
October 1996 High Wind Event
On October 30, 1996, Western New York was treated with a dose of high wind as a prelude to Winter.
Members of the staff of National Weather Service Buffalo were hard at work, either in the office
issuing warnings and answering phones, or out in the field observing the storm's punishing
effects. Below is a sample from the staff's endeavors:
